Global Contract Manager

Description

We are currently looking for a Global Contract Manager for our Maritime business area with wide experience in logistics or shipping services.

This role will be key for ensuring that all purchases are aligned with the company’s strategic objectives and involves negotiating contracts, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring the timely and cost-effective acquisition of services essential for ship agency operations.

This job position will ideally be based in Barcelona but applications from other locations and countries could be considered if the requirements are met.

Noatum Maritime offers services in the areas of ship attendance, commercial representation, shipping agency, ship handling and ancillary services for shipping lines, cruise lines and vessel operators.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Procurement Planning:

-Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with Noatum Maritime’s goals.

-Analyze market trends to anticipate changes in supply and demand, and adjust procurement strategies accordingly.

  • Supplier Management:

-Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers based on quality, cost, service, and reliability.

-Maintain strong relationships with existing suppliers and develop new supplier partnerships.

-Conduct regular performance reviews of suppliers and take corrective actions when necessary.

  • Contract Negotiation and Management:

-Negotiate contracts, terms, and conditions with suppliers to ensure the best value for the agency.

-Oversee the drafting and management of procurement contracts, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.

  • Procurement Operations:

-Desing, implement and monitor end-to-end procurement process, including requisitioning, purchasing, and payment.

-Ensure all procurement activities are conducted in accordance with company policies and procedures.

-Implement and maintain procurement systems and tools to enhance efficiency and transparency.

  • Cost Management:

-Monitor and manage the procurement budget, ensuring cost-effective purchasing decisions.

-Identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements within the procurement function.

  • Quality Assurance:

-Ensure that all procured goods and services meet the required quality standards and specifications.

-Address any issues related to product quality or supplier performance promptly and effectively.

  • Risk Management:

-Identify and mitigate risks associated with the procurement process, including supply chain disruptions and market volatility.

-Develop contingency plans to address potential procurement challenges.

  • Compliance and Reporting:

-Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.

-Prepare and present regular reports on procurement activities, performance metrics, and cost savings.

  • Team Leadership and Development:

-Lead and mentor the procurement team, providing guidance and support to achieve departmental goals.

-Foster a culture of continuous improvement and professional development within the procurement team.

Minimum requirements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of [10] years of experience in procurement, preferably within the maritime or logistics industry.
  • Strong negotiation, contract management, and supplier relationship management skills.
  • Excellent analytical and strategic thinking abilities.
  • Proficiency in procurement software and tools.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, global environment.
