Are you passionate about international event logistics and end-to-end project management?

We are looking for a Senior Project Manager Fairs & Events (Benelux) to lead and further develop our international fairs and events logistics function. You will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing complex logistics projects on a global scale.

The successful candidate will ensure operational excellence across all international movements, guaranteeing compliance with critical event deadlines, international customs regulations, and the highest standards of quality and service. Reporting to the Head of Benelux Fairs & Events, you will directly manage the operations team and serve as the primary point of contact for strategic clients, event organizers, international agents, and global partners.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop the international event logistics function, setting standards for operational excellence and service quality.
  • Oversee the planning and execution of international shipments for fairs and events by air, sea, and road transport.
  • Ensure compliance with international customs regulations, including temporary imports and exports, ATA Carnets, and country-specific requirements.
  • Ensure the correct application and interpretation of exhibition and event tariffs (show tariffs).
  • Act as the senior point of contact for strategic clients and key stakeholders.
  • Manage and develop relationships with international agents, partners, and logistics providers.
  • Oversee the financial performance of projects, ensuring cost control and profitability.
  • Drive continuous improvement, process standardization, and operational best practices.
  • Identify, manage, and mitigate operational risks through effective contingency planning.
  • Support business growth through the design of logistics solutions, participation in tenders, and identification of commercial opportunities.
  • Lead high-performing teams, fostering their professional development and growth.
  • Ensure seamless coordination between operations, sales, finance, and compliance departments.

Minimum requirements

  • 5-10 years of experience in international logistics, freight forwarding, or exhibition & event logistics.
  • Proven leadership experience managing and developing high-performing teams.
  • Strong expertise in multimodal transport (air, ocean, and road freight).
  • Advanced knowledge of customs procedures, ATA Carnets, and temporary import/export operations.
  • Hands-on experience managing logistics for international exhibitions and events.
  • Solid understanding of exhibition tariffs (show tariffs) and event logistics requirements.
  • Experience in project financial management, including budgeting, cost control, profitability, and P&L responsibility.
  • Proven ability to work with international networks of agents, partners, and logistics providers.
  • Fluent Dutch and English (mandatory). Additional languages are a plus.
